The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced its 2026 inductees, a class headlined by Oasis, Iron Maiden, and Phil Collins. The Cleveland-based institution revealed the new cohort of artists recognized for their lasting impact on popular music.

The selection includes a wide array of genres, moving beyond the organization's namesake to honor hip hop, soul, and pop. Alongside the headliners, the class features Sade, Wu-Tang Clan, Billy Idol, and the late Luther Vandross. The group also recognizes the influential post-punk legacy of Joy Division and New Order.

A mix of reunions and long-overdue honors

The induction of Oasis arrives during a massive commercial resurgence for the band. Following their high-profile reunion last year, the group has launched one of the most profitable tours in recent decades.

For heavy metal fans, the inclusion of Iron Maiden marks a significant moment. The Hall of Fame has faced criticism in the past for its perceived lack of support for the heavy metal genre, making this induction a notable reconciliation.

Selection for the Hall of Fame requires artists to have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to nomination. A committee of over 1,200 industry professionals, including musicians and historians, determines the final roster.

While the 2026 class features heavy hitters, several prominent names missed the final cut. High-profile artists left out of this year's induction include Shakira, Mariah Carey, Pink, and Lauryn Hill. Other notable omissions include INXS, Jeff Buckley, and New Edition.
