Three people were arrested by Carabineros in the upper Coquimbo area following an operation that dismantled a local drug-dealing ring. The discovery was made after the signal from a pair of stolen headphones led authorities to a residence in the area.

Officers from the Police Investigation Section (SIP) of the Coquimbo Second Precinct tracked the electronic device. Thanks to the precise location of the signal, officers were able to identify the home where the stolen items were being held.

Upon entering the premises, officers recovered the headphones and found processed marijuana along with cash. The operation directly linked the occupants of the house to drug sales within the municipality.

Suspects with prior criminal records

Police arrested a 39-year-old woman and two 24-year-old men. According to the official Carabineros report, the woman has a prior criminal record for drug trafficking.

The two men also had previous records for receiving stolen goods and assaulting police officers. The institution confirmed through its official channels that tracking the headphones was the key to locating the drug den.

The three individuals are currently in custody to face the corresponding charges. Police investigations remain open to determine if other members of the organization are operating in the upper part of the city.
