Automaker Omoda has launched the pre-sale of its new C5 SHS-H SUV in Chile, marking the company's first self-charging hybrid (HEV) model in the country. According to latercera.com, this launch aims to expand the lineup of its most successful model in the local market.
The vehicle utilizes Super Hybrid System (SHK) technology to optimize fuel consumption. With a 51-liter tank, the SUV is capable of traveling up to 1,000 kilometers without the need for external charging.
Performance and Propulsion Technology
The new model will arrive in the Chilean market in two versions: Confort and Luxury. Both variants share a fifth-generation 1.5T engine with a thermal efficiency of 44.5%, as reported by the media outlet.
The powertrain integrates a 201 HP electric motor with a DHT automatic transmission. This combination delivers a total output of 215 HP and 310 Nm of torque, allowing the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds.
In terms of fuel efficiency, the C5 SHS-H achieves 22.2 km/l in mixed driving cycles and 15.9 km/l on the highway. The vehicle has a top speed of 175 km/h.
The SUV's interior stands out for its high-tech features, including a 12.3-inch digital cluster and a central touchscreen of the same size. This system offers wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with integrated GPS.
Regarding safety, the unit is equipped with seven airbags and a dual-zone climate control system. The interior features black eco-leather upholstery with fabric accents, a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, and a keyless entry system.
Pre-sale prices for the Omoda C5 SHS-H range between $17,990,000 and $20,490,000 CLP. These prices include special pre-sale bonuses and financing options available throughout the month of April.
