Mexico City-based publisher El Universal Compañía Periodística Nacional has updated its "El Universal Edición Digital" mobile application to enhance news access on smartphones and tablets. The app, which recently received an update on April 8, 2025, provides direct access to the online edition of the leading Mexican newspaper.

The application has surpassed 50,000 downloads on the Google Play Store. It allows users to browse the latest news and provides the ability to download previous daily issues for later reading.

Users can also save specific articles within the app to read at their convenience. This feature is intended to support offline reading and more flexible news consumption for mobile users.

Subscriber Access and Data Security

The app's data collection includes location and personal information. However, the developer provides a process for users to request the deletion of their data from the system. The developer may update these data practices over time.
