Zacatecas authorities have confirmed the identities of six of the seven victims found dead in the state of Aguascalientes last Friday. According to the spokesperson for the Zacatecas State Peace and Security Construction Board, all the deceased were residents of Zacatecas.

Official reports indicate that one of the victims had a prior missing persons report filed. The report details that the disappearances took place between April 17 and April 29 across various locations in Zacatecas, with a high concentration in the municipality of Guadalupe and the community of La Zacatecana.

The identified victims are Manuel de Jesús Jacobo Castro, Miguel Adán Mena Saucedo, Coral Esmeralda Muñoz Vargas, José Eduardo Jara Elías, Alan Antony Sifuentes Redin, and Frida Michelle Muro Espinoza.

State officials noted that identification was achieved through family confirmation and fingerprint analysis. According to reports from Elfinanciero.com.mx, the Aguascalientes Prosecutor's Office determined that the deaths were caused by gunshot wounds to the skull and chest.

Warning issued over fake missing persons posters

The State Peace and Security Construction Board issued a warning regarding the circulation of fraudulent missing persons posters on social media. “These are fake; they were not issued by any authority,” the spokesperson stated, clarifying that the origin of this information, which is allegedly linked to criminal groups, remains unknown.

Currently, there is ongoing coordination between federal, state, and municipal levels of government to investigate the case. Authorities are maintaining intelligence and surveillance efforts to bring clarity to the events.

However, the investigation is facing pressure from the community. As reported by Elfinanciero.com.mx, the families and friends of the victims are calling on Zacatecas Attorney General Christian Paul Camacho Osnaya to investigate the potential involvement of municipal police officers in the kidnappings and disappearances.
