The Santiago Ballet is set to premiere a new production of the classic tale "Cinderella" at the Santiago Municipal Theatre. Running from May 29 to June 6, this season offers a contemporary reinterpretation of the beloved fairy tale.
According to reports from elmostrador.cl, the staging aims to blend elements of fantasy, floral motifs, and nature. This version marks the creative debut of Australian choreographer Lachlan Monaghan in this specific format for the company.
Directed by César Morales, the production features the music of Sergei Prokofiev to underscore the story of transformation and romance. The Santiago Philharmonic Orchestra will perform the score under the musical direction of Pedro-Pablo Prudencio.
A Visual and Sonic Experience
The production promises a technical spectacle designed to transform the stage into a magical realm. Set design will be handled by Christopher Ash, with costume design by Loreto Monsalve.
Lighting design will be provided by Ricardo Castro. According to the production's description, the show aims to illustrate how hope remains unwavering even in the face of adversity.
In addition to the Santiago Ballet, the program will feature performers from the Santiago Municipal Ballet School. Performances will take place at the Municipal Theatre, located at Agustinas 794, in the heart of the capital.
