Monterrey is gearing up to host the tallest building in all of Latin America. Torre Rise, a massive project spanning 4/84 meters and 99 stories, will rise in the capital of Nuevo León, positioning itself as the continent's most imposing structure—surpassed only by New York's One World Trade Center.

According to reports from xataka.com.mx, the construction is located in the Obispado neighborhood, specifically along Constitución Avenue, overlooking the Santa Catarina River. The project is a collaborative effort involving Nest, Anlam Group, and Pozas Design Group, under the direction of Mexican architect Esteban Ramos.

A Mixed-Use Complex

The development is designed to function as a comprehensive urban hub. According to information from La Nación, the structure will feature 22 floors of residential apartments, 35 levels of office space, and 10 floors dedicated to a luxury hotel.

The complex will also integrate four levels of retail space along with various recreational areas. The design includes 4,300 square meters of green space and a panoramic observation deck located on the tower's top three floors.

To ensure stability in an area prone to earthquakes and high winds, the building utilizes a perimeter truss system designed to withstand lateral loads. The facade will feature a modular curtain wall system composed of aluminum and glass.

While initial sketches featured a metallic aesthetic inspired by the historic Torre Latino, the final design prioritizes a more glass-heavy appearance. With this project, Mexico aims to demonstrate its technical and financial capacity to execute large-scale infrastructure projects in its major metropolises.

Construction began in 2023, and the building has already reached 52 stories, standing at nearly 300 meters. The Governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García, indicated that the building will be ready by the summer of 2026, ahead of the FIFA World Cup; however, industry specialists estimate that final completion will occur in 2027.
