Officers from the Trovolhue station seized more than four kilograms of marijuana and a greenhouse containing cannabis plants reaching up to three meters in height in the Carahue area, according to biobiochile.cl.
The operation, conducted at a local residence, resulted in the arrest of a 24-year-old man. During the search, officers found 4,707 grams of processed marijuana and 11 cannabis sativa plants in the process of drying.
The intervention was supported by personnel from the Police Investigation Section (SIP). The discovery of the massive plants surprised investigators during the search of the property.
A blow to local drug trafficking
The value of the seized drugs is estimated at over 91 million pesos. Captain Felipe Zapata of the Carahue Sub-station of the Carabineros, specified that the greenhouse containing cannabis sativa plants up to 3 meters tall was found alongside the processed marijuana.
Following the arrest, the suspect was brought before the Carahue Guarantee Court. The formalization process is currently under the direction of the prosecutor for Initial Proceedings to determine the detainee's legal status.
