The Mercado Urbano Tobalaba (MUT) has launched 'Las formas de la luz' (Forms of Light), a photography exhibition featuring 119 works selected from a summer competition. The display showcases diverse interpretations of light across urban, natural, and everyday settings.

The exhibition follows a massive call for entries that received over 2,500 submissions during January and February. Participants captured various techniques to illustrate how light transforms architectural contrasts and intimate scenes.

Elena Cruz, MUT’s Director of Content and Programming, stated that the initiative aligns with the venue's mission to integrate art and culture into urban life.

“This initiative is a fundamental part of MUT's purpose to consolidate itself as a space where art, culture, and creation coexist with the city,” Cruz said.

She added that the venue aims to serve as a meeting point that promotes local talent and offers open cultural experiences to the community.

Joseph Ignacio Quezada Aguayo took first place for his work titled “Casualidad,” winning a Fujifilm X-M5 camera. Julio Oporto Villarroel earned second place with “Una postal de verano en el sur,” receiving a DJI Mini 4K drone.
