The 16th edition of the Tour Corridas Milo officially kicked off in Concepción this week, marking the return of one of Chile’s largest free school sporting events. The tour, which promotes physical activity among youth, expects to draw thousands of students to the streets for its 2026 circuit.

Since its inception, the initiative has reached more than 150,000 children and teenagers. Organizers confirmed that the event continues to emphasize core values such as effort, commitment, and mutual respect.

“With the 2026 Tour, we seek to foster sports and healthy living among the youth, along with the values they learn through competition,” said Franco Margas, Consumer Marketing Manager at Milo. “We love to see how thousands of children participate and enjoy this experience with their families.”

Incentivizing school participation

To drive high attendance, organizers have introduced a financial incentive for educational institutions. Schools with the highest number of participants in each city will receive a prize of $1,500,000 in sports equipment.

According to tournament officials, the prize will be awarded symbolically on race day, with the physical equipment delivered 15 business days later. This structure aims to encourage schools to mobilize their student bodies for the races.

Following the opening event in the Bío Bío region, the tour will head to Puerto Montt. The city returns to the event circuit after a ten-year hiatus. The national series will conclude with a final race in Santiago.

Participants can choose between 3-kilometer and 5-kilometer routes. Registration remains open and free of charge through the official Milo website for all interested students and their families.
