Nikolaos Issaris has resigned as manager of Deportes Linares, a club in the Chilean Second Division, following allegations of irregularities and pressure from the team's board.

The Greek strategist took to social media to expose what he describes as an attempt by the club's administration to interfere with his technical work and tactical decision-making.

According to reports from biobiochile.cl, Issaris claimed that the club's management has misled him since the start of his tenure, obstructing the administrative processes necessary for him to carry out his duties.

The manager detailed significant difficulties in regularizing his contract in accordance with league regulations, despite his repeated requests for clarification.

Allegations of favoritism

The most serious allegation from the manager points directly to the influence of the club's new investors on the selection of the starting lineup.

Issaris claimed that the team's new investor demanded he start a player who, in his professional opinion, does not possess the level required to compete at this level.

“Furthermore, the new investor comes and forces me, as the coach, to start a player who doesn't even deserve to be in professional football. I refused,” the manager stated in his farewell message.

The coach emphasized that his resignation is a matter of personal and professional integrity in the face of the club's mandates.

“I have values, I have principles, and unfortunately, I am not being allowed to uphold them. I am very sorry; I wanted to give it my all, but unfortunately, I cannot continue down this path,” Issaris declared.

The manager's departure comes amid a period of uncertainty for the Linares-based institution, following the widespread circulation of his statements through supporter media outlets such as ‘Fanáticos del Depo’.
