Alternative rock bands Asia Menor and Columpios al Suelo are set to share the stage this Saturday, April 25, at the Matucana 100 cultural center esplanade. According to a report by latercera.com, the event marks the conclusion of the promotional cycles for their most recent albums, "Enola Gay" and "Colores."
The night promises a meeting of two different generations within the Chilean indie scene. Both groups arrive at this concert following successful tours across Chile and Mexico, bringing with them accolades such as the 2024 Pulsar Award.
A Generational Crossroads in National Rock
Asia Menor, a project formed in Temuco in 2018, has established itself as a key figure in the country's contemporary post-punk scene. Their debut album, "Enola Gay," released under the Fisura label, earned them the Best New Artist award at the 2024 Pulsar Awards, as reported by La Tercera.
The band has successfully expanded their reach into Mexico, with performances in cities such as Mexico City, Monterrey, and Tijuana. Their shows are characterized by emotional intensity and dense guitar work that creates a direct connection with the audience.
Meanwhile, Columpios al Suelo represents a more established legacy dating back to the early 2010s. Their 2022 album, "Colores," was hailed by critics, including Citylab/GAM, as an essential work within the genre.
Moving between dream pop and shoegaze, the group is currently working on their next album, recorded at the GAM studios. This performance at M100 symbolizes a dialogue between the pioneers who paved the way in the local scene and a new wave of guitar-driven music seeking to reclaim ground against the rise of urban music.
The concert will begin at 9:00 PM. Tickets for the outdoor performance are now available through the Ticketplus platform.
