Gala Caldirola became the sixth contestant to leave the latest season of the Chilean television program Fiebre de Baile on Wednesday night. The reality star finished her run after earning only 28 points, the lowest score among the remaining participants.
Caldirola faced an elimination duel against actor Gonzalo Valenzuela, former Yingo star Kathy Contreras, and comedian Felipe Izquierdo. Izquierdo secured his spot in the next round after receiving the highest number of votes from the viewing public.
A challenge overcome
Following the announcement, host Diana Bolocco praised Caldirola for her efforts during the competition. "I know you loved dancing, but you are beautiful and talented," Bolocco said. "You always said dancing wasn't your thing, but I think you shone tonight."
Bolocco also alluded to the personal life of the contestant, telling her, "You have a lover at your feet."
Once off the stage, Caldirola spoke to the show's "VAR" segment as reported by Página 7. She admitted she had hoped to stay in the competition longer to continue developing her skills.
"I would have liked to continue learning, but I have the possibility of doing so outside as well," Caldirola said. "I leave with a feeling of gratitude and pride in myself."
Caldirola noted that joining the show represented a significant personal milestone. She revealed that producers had approached her since the first season, but she consistently declined due to stage fright.
"You have no idea how difficult it was for me, but I dared to do it," she added. "I told them no for a long time because I was embarrassed, but now I’ve eaten my fear with a side of fries."
