Attorney Claudio Valdivia is no longer representing Argentine actress Yamila Reyna in the domestic violence complaint filed against her former boyfriend, singer Américo. The lawyer recently confirmed his departure, stating that the change in strategy stems from decisions made during the initial stages of the judicial process.
Valdivia revealed his resignation during an interview on the program ‘Hay que decirlo.’ While he did not disclose specific details out of respect for attorney-client privilege, he noted that the first 45 days of the case required highly complex resolutions.
“I resigned a couple of weeks ago,” the lawyer confirmed. Regarding the management of the case, he highlighted the comedian's determination to face the legal proceedings: “In that sense, I deeply admire Yamila; she had the courage to make those [decisions].”
New legal team
Following Valdivia's departure, the actress's defense is now being handled by a new legal team. According to the attorney, the transition aims to maintain the focus and strategy necessary to move toward the potential formalization of charges.
The lawyer indicated that the decision to leave the case was made in conjunction with his former client. Despite the professional separation, he expressed that he maintains great affection for Reyna.
Regarding the progress of the investigation, Valdivia estimated that concrete results regarding the domestic violence complaint could emerge within two months. However, he warned that the outcome depends on the performance of the new defense, noting that a serious error could alter the projected timeline.
