Real Betis management has officially dismissed rumors regarding the dismissal of manager Manuel Pellegrini following a period of inconsistent performance in the Spanish league.

Despite growing pressure from fans after a 1-1 draw against Osasuna, the club's leadership maintains that the Chilean coach is not under consideration for replacement.

Betis has secured only four victories in 14 matches since the start of 2026, leaving the squad struggling to find stability in the standings.

No debate on manager

Betis CEO Ramón Alarcón addressed the mounting criticism in an interview with Cadena Ser, stating that the club has already moved past the discussion of the manager's future.

“I understand the debate (in the streets, social media, and some media). It is normal in the world of football, when there is a run like this, to talk about the coach. He is handling it well,” Alarcón said.

Alarcón noted that the club renewed both the manager and the team captain in November, effectively closing the chapter on the manager's contract status.

“Since then, it is a topic that for us is not in the debate. I understand it, yes, but we do not have to debate it. It neither worries me nor occupies me,” the CEO added.

Alarcón pointed to the club's simultaneous competition in European tournaments as a reason to maintain confidence in the current project.

“On August 15, when the season started in Elche, I would have signed if you told me that with five weeks left we would be fifth, depending on ourselves, and in the Europa League quarterfinals,” Alarcón said.

However, the executive warned that failure to qualify for European competition would force the club to implement budget cuts to the current squad.

“Staying out of Europe would be a damage to the planning and we would have to reduce the cost of the squad,” Alarcón warned.

Betis faces an immediate test this Thursday against Braga in the Europa League, followed by a crucial La Liga fixture against Girona.
