Cerveza Victoria has announced the launch of its new advertising campaign, "Tierra de Victorias" (Land of Victories), an initiative designed to bridge the brand's identity with Mexico's rich boxing tradition, according to expansion.mx.
The commercial strategy aims to reignite interest in the sport across the country. Gabriel Díaz, Marketing Director for C/Cerveza Victoria, explained that the brand identified a profound connection between its core values and the boxing ring.
“We realized that many aspects of our brand's essence, our spirit, and our DNA connect deeply with the world of boxing,” Díaz stated, as reported by expansion.mx.
Díaz further noted that the campaign seeks to reclaim a tradition that has felt somewhat disconnected lately, pointing out that even Mexico's most iconic boxers rarely compete on home soil anymore.
The campaign leverages shared concepts between beer culture and the sport, such as the term “esquina” (corner), which is a staple in both boxing gyms and local corner stores. To personify the initiative, the brand has enlisted professional boxers Mariana “La Barby” Juárez and Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Márquez to feature in its advertising displays.
A Three-Round Strategy
The marketing plan is structured into phases designed to engage new generations of consumers, who have shown a growing interest in amateur bouts featuring content creators. In the first round, Victoria will join as a sponsor for Supernova Genesis 2026.
The event will feature a lineup of influencers, streamers, and content creators, including Alana Flores, Mario Bautista, Karely Ruiz, and Kim Shantal. The event is set to stream on Netflix on April 26.
The second round of the strategy will focus on the stories behind the punches. To create a lasting impact, the brand has produced a documentary directed by acclaimed filmmaker Emmanuel “El Chivo” Lubezki.
Additionally, the brand has developed a four-part docuseries that explores the history of boxing gyms in key cities. The production follows the legacies of training centers in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Tijuana, and Mérida.
