Google is officially bringing its latest mid-range smartphone, the Pixel 10a, to Mexico. The device aims to capture the market for users seeking a balance between a compact design and high-end photography capabilities.

At the heart of the device is Google's Tensor G4 processor, paired with the Titan M2 security chip. The phone comes standard with 8 GB of RAM and is available in 128 GB or 256 GB storage configurations. Perhaps most significantly for long-term users, Google has pledged seven years of Android and security updates for the new handset.

Advanced camera hardware

The Pixel 10a features a dual-camera system designed to challenge more expensive flagships. The primary sensor is a 48-megapixel unit with an f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS), capable of 8x SuperRes Zoom. It is accompanied by a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens with a 120-degree field of view. For selfies, the front-facing camera also utilizes a 13-megapixel sensor.

The display is a 6.3-inch pOLED 'Actua' panel, offering a variable refresh rate between 60 Hz and 120 Hz. It boasts 3,000 nits of peak brightness and is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i. The screen resolution sits at 1,080 x 2,424 pixels, delivering a density of 422.2 pixels per inch.

Powering the device is a 5,100 mAh battery that supports 30W wired charging and 10W wireless charging. The phone carries an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, ensuring it can withstand harsh environments. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 6, alongside a standard in-screen fingerprint sensor and facial recognition software.

The Pixel 10a is currently retailing in Mexico for 11,999 pesos. While it faces competition from alternatives like the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE—which is currently priced at 9,499 pesos—Google is banking on its extended update schedule and superior camera processing to win over consumers.

Industry analysts note that while the Samsung alternative offers a lower price point, it lacks the longevity of Google's long-term software commitment. With Android 16 pre-installed, the Pixel 10a is positioned as a durable option for those who plan to keep their device for several years.
