Manhunt along the riverbanks
During the operation, officers managed to apprehend two individuals and recover two vehicles. One of the cars was being used by the four suspects, while the other was the stolen vehicle that triggered the initial pursuit.
However, police are continuing a ground search to locate the remaining members of the gang, who reportedly jumped into the river to evade the police perimeter.
Regarding the condition of the officers, the institution confirmed that one Carabineros officer sustained minor injuries. As Carabineros told the press, the officer “fell to the ground on the riverbank while attempting to detain one of the suspects.”
The detainees and the recovered vehicles were taken to the 14th Precinct of San Bernardo as investigations continue.
