The educational community at Alicante del Sol School in Puente Alto is on high alert following the discovery of a shooting threat written in the school's restrooms.
The message, which spread rapidly among parents, contains an explicit warning for this Wednesday at 1:00 PM. “Wednesday at 1 PM shooting, idiots kl. No one is safe, I'm coming with (sic),” reads the text, which was photographed and circulated by a parent.
Given the severity of the threat, the school's General Parent-Teacher Association sent an email to the administration expressing "grave concern and a sense of urgency." The board stated that the threat poses a direct risk to the lives of students, teachers, and staff.
Parents' Demands
The parent group has called for an emergency meeting to address campus security. A primary demand is for the school to confirm whether a formal report has been filed with either the Carabineros or the Investigative Police (PDI).
Furthermore, parents are demanding to see the contingency plan that will be in place this Wednesday. They have also requested a review of security footage and forensic investigations to identify the person responsible for the message.
"The physical safety of our students is our absolute priority," the board emphasized in its official statement.
In response, the administration of Alicante del Sol School sent an email aimed at conveying "calm and commitment." The school assured that it is investigating the matter with the necessary rigor to protect the school community.
The institution stated that it is maintaining an open dialogue with the Parent Association to address the situation holistically. "Once this period of dialogue has concluded, an official resolution outlining the appropriate measures will be released," the administration noted.
This incident comes amid growing concern over a rise in similar threats targeting schools across Chile.
