Government spokesperson Mara Sedini avoided answering questions from the press this Tuesday regarding the funding of a lunch held at La Moneda Palace. When journalists asked whether the meeting between President Kast and his former university classmates had already been paid for, the Secretary of State simply replied, “I love you all too much.”

The incident took place at the Government headquarters, where the minister responded with smiles rather than addressing the matter of payment. TVN footage captured the moment the spokesperson dodged direct inquiries regarding the use of resources for the event.

Institutional explanations

From Congress, Sedini clarified that the President will provide the necessary explanations through the proper channels. “The President will provide explanations through the appropriate institutions, in the proper manner and at the proper time,” the official stated.

The minister emphasized that no public funds were used for the activity. According to her statements, the lunch was funded using the President's personal resources.

The controversy stems from the fact that the meeting took place within the official premises of La Moneda. Last Monday, the spokesperson had already indicated that the matter was settled, but the lack of specific details regarding the payment for the event continues to draw scrutiny toward the management of the Government Palace.
