A man estimated to be between 50 and 60 years old was found dead early Monday morning in the Valle Alegre sector of Quintero. The body bore multiple stab wounds, triggering a homicide investigation.
Following the discovery, the Prosecutor's Office ordered the Homicide Brigade of the Investigations Police (PDI) to intervene. Detectives were deployed to the scene to begin forensic examinations and collect evidence.
Cristóbal Fernández, subprefect of the Valparaíso Homicide Brigade, confirmed that the injuries identified on the victim may have been inflicted by third parties.
Ongoing Investigations
According to the officer's preliminary findings, the cause of death was related to blood loss. “The victim had two stab wounds on his left leg that are consistent with hemorrhagic shock resulting from sharp-force injuries,” Fernández stated.
Investigators are currently working to collect blood evidence at the scene. This effort seeks to identify traces that may lead to the perpetrators.
Simultaneously, the police team is conducting an exhaustive review of security camera footage in the area. The objective is to detect any suspicious movement in the Valle Alegre area during the early morning hours.
Authorities are also canvassing witnesses in the vicinity. The PDI is seeking testimonies to help reconstruct the dynamics of the attack and facilitate the arrest of the alleged perpetrators.
