Netflix released the first teaser and promotional images for 'Rafa' on Monday, a new four-part docuseries following tennis icon Rafael Nadal.
The production tracks Nadal during his 2024 season, marking his last full campaign on the ATP Tour. According to an official Netflix description, the series features previously unreleased archival footage and unprecedented access to the player's inner circle, including his family and coaching staff.
Beyond the court
The series aims to go beyond match highlights by documenting the physical and emotional toll of Nadal's recent injury struggles. Viewers will see the grueling process of rehabilitation and the athlete's determination to return to professional competition.
Production footage captures training sessions, travel schedules, and the daily routines required to maintain elite performance. The docuseries also integrates interviews with tennis legends Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, and John McEnroe.
Directed by Zach Heinzerling, the project is a Skydance Sports production. Executive producers include David Ellison, Jesse Sisgold, Jason Reed, and Jon Weinbach.
Netflix has scheduled the premiere of 'Rafa' for May 29.
