Former Colo Colo defender and legend, Lizardo 'Chano' Garrido, is currently recovering at home following a heavy fall at the Villa Alemana stadium. The incident took place during an event organized by Academia Fútbol Pro, sparking immediate concern throughout the national football community.

According to reports from biobiochile.cl, the former 'Cacique' star received immediate medical attention at the scene. Medical personnel present at the event treated the former athlete before he was transferred to a medical center in the capital.

Event organizers provided details regarding the incident and the health status of the Colo Colo icon. In an official statement, the organization detailed the timeline of the emergency.

“He suffered a fall upon arriving at the stadium for our event. (Garrido) was treated immediately by our kinesiologist and subsequently by the ambulance paramedic, before being transferred to a private clinic in Santiago,” the organizers of Academia Fútbol Pro stated.

Health Update

Following relevant medical evaluations, news regarding the former 1991 Copa Libertadores champion's recovery has been encouraging. The organization confirmed that the former defender no longer requires hospitalization.

“He is already at home, recovering from his injuries,” the organizers added, easing the concerns of his followers.
