Santiago and its surrounding areas are packed with a variety of free activities this weekend, April 18 and 19. The districts of Ñuñoa, Estación Central, and Quinta Normal have lined up a series of food fairs, carnivals, and cultural gatherings for families to enjoy.

In Estación Central, Plaza Argentina will host the debut of the “La Estación” Popular Market. The event kicks off with a lineup featuring local entrepreneur stalls, live music, dancing, and a selection of food trucks for attendees.

Meanwhile, Quinta Normal is premiering “Estation Fantasía” at the intersection of Brisas del Río and Avenida Costanera Sur. Designed specifically for children, the event will feature stilt walkers, acrobats, skaters, and dancers starting at 5:00 PM.

Gastronomy and Culture in Ñuñoa

The lineup in Ñuñoa features two major highlights. The National Tourism Service (Sernatur) will host the “Carnaval Mayor 2026” at Parque Estadio Nacional. Part of the Senior Vacation Program, the event will bring together over 100 exhibitors, live bands, and various food tastings.

At the same time, the Casa de la Cultura will host the Gourmet Market, organized by the Ñuñoa Cultural Corporation. The fair will offer everything from ramen bars and ceviche to French pastries, alongside mixology workshops and live cooking demonstrations by guest chefs.

Matías Bermúdez, director of Multimedia Group and the event's organizer, noted that the goal is to establish a permanent fixture for the public. “We want this to become a regular meeting point for the community and, at the same time, serve as a platform for brands to grow,” Bermúdez said.

The Gourmet Market will run from Friday, April 17, through Sunday, April 19. Operating hours are 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Friday and Saturday, and 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Sunday.
