The University of Chile has announced the return of its cultural talk series, “Diálogos de lo (Im)posible” (Dialogues of the (Im)possible), for its fourth season. Produced by the university's Directorate of Artistic Creation, the series will begin broadcasting on April 10 at 2:00 PM on Radio Universidad de Chile and UChile TV.

The new season features ten weekly episodes exploring the evolution of the arts and their relationship with contemporary social and political contexts. The program will feature prominent figures such as visual artist Nury González and muralist Alejandro “Mono” González, recipient of the 2025 National Prize for Plastic Arts.

Fernando Gaspar, Director of Artistic Creation at the University of Chile, stated that this season aims to demonstrate how art connects with the conflicts of our time. “'Diálogos de lo (Im)posible' provides a much-needed space to pause and reflect on artistic creation through various perspectives and experiences,” the director noted.

Debate Topics and Civic Engagement

The lineup includes discussions on pop culture, the management of independent spaces, and the role of art in civic development. Notable episodes include an April 24 discussion on arts education featuring representatives from the Ministry of Cultures and Balmaceda Arte Joven.

On May 1, the series will address accessibility and functional diversity, featuring deaf actress Valentina Orellana. Additionally, on May 8, the program will explore the link between art and political activism through a conversation between academic Ana Harcha and performer César Cisternas.

Other topics for the season include the aesthetics of care and domestic labor on May 15, and the importance of muralism in cultural democracy on May 22. The season will conclude on June 12 with a debate on the reinvention of Chilean opera, featuring composer Sokio and the director of Lírica Disidente, Nicolás Vásquez.
