The Board of Presidents of the National Professional Football Association (ANFP) has selected four officials to lead Chile's new Football Federation, an organization that will operate independently from the current governing body. The appointees are Cecilia Pérez, representing Universidad de Chile; Aníbal Mosa, from Colo Colo; Jorge Uauy, from Palestino; and Cristian Ogalde, from Magallanes.

This decision follows the recent reform of the Sports Corporation Law (SADP) approved just a few weeks ago. The new legal framework mandates the creation of a federative structure that is separate from the ANFP.

While the legislative proposal promotes autonomy between the two organizations, club presidents are seeking to ensure their involvement. The goal is to establish a Council that represents club interests within this new federative structure.

Dual roles for officials

Information regarding the composition of this new Council was first shared by journalist Christopher Brandt. The ESPN Chile reporter confirmed that the four selected individuals will join the leadership body of the new Federation.

“These four representatives will form the Council of the Football Federation of Chile,” Brandt detailed.

According to reports from biobiochile.cl, these appointments do not mean they will step down from their current positions. The four officials will maintain their existing roles and responsibilities within their respective clubs while taking on their new duties within the federation.
