Mexico is set to become the first country in Latin America to receive the new Nissan Frontier Pro PHEV, according to xataka.com.mx. The Japanese automaker has confirmed that this plug-in hybrid model will make its market debut in Mexico in 2026.

The arrival of this model places the Mexican market at the heart of the automaker's regional strategy. The vehicle promises high performance, delivering more than 400 horsepower and an all-electric range of up to 135 kilometers.

Nissan aims to leverage its leadership position in the country to introduce this new technology. The company is combining its expertise in the pickup segment with technological advancements developed in China, the global leader in new energy vehicles.

Cutting-edge power and technology

While the final technical specifications for the Mexican market have not yet been released, data from the version unveiled in China provides a clear preview. The model features a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine paired with an electric motor, producing 423 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque.

The system includes intelligent all-wheel drive, four driving modes, and an electro-mechanical locking rear differential. Additionally, the truck features V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) capability, allowing users to power electrical appliances directly from the vehicle.

In terms of design, the Frontier Pro PHEV boasts a robust silhouette with a length of 5.5 meters. The exterior incorporates modern elements such as LED lights on the hood and an illuminated emblem, drawing inspiration from the classic D2L.

The interior focuses on high-tech comfort, featuring a 14.6-inch central touchscreen and a 10-inch digital instrument cluster. High-end trims will include a panoramic sunroof and seats equipped with massage, heating, and ventilation functions.

In China, estimated prices range between $26,600 and $35,000. While Nissan has yet to confirm final pricing for Mexico, the arrival of this model marks the beginning of a new era for the brand in the region.
