The Ministry of Economy enables a reporting channel for transport fare abuses.

The Ministry of Economy has launched a new reporting channel to flag potential abuses in freight transport rates. The initiative is designed to detect irregularities in logistics service payments throughout the country.

The Ministry aims to “prevent violations and acts of unfair competition regarding transport service payments.” With this tool, authorities intend to oversee the commercial relationship between carriers and shippers.

This move is part of the government's ongoing monitoring of fuel price hikes, which were announced just over two weeks ago. State authorities are analyzing how these increases are affecting production chains across various economic sectors.

Supply Chain Oversight

The Ministry has focused specifically on analyzing “potential impacts on the relationship between transport companies and shippers.” This oversight aims to ensure transparency in the contracting process.

“The goal is to ensure compliance with contracts and current regulations, as well as to prevent abuses in freight rate payments,” the institution stated in an official press release.

The new system will allow for the reporting of complaints related to price manipulation, regulatory violations, and unfair competition.

Users can submit reports directly via email to monitoreotarifascarga@economia.cl. Complaints can also be filed through the Ministry of Economy's official website.
